Life on the Avenue

This blog was originally started to track our progress as we regenerated a derelict Victorian house in Dublin. We turned an old crumbling ruin in to our dream house! If you wish to read through the trials and tribulations of the house build it is best to start at the oldest blog post and read in date order. The blog then evolved in to being all about my life in Dublin, Ireland and then life in Malaga, Spain with artist "PIGSY" and now back in Dublin I hope you enjoy reading it!

Tassle time!

I finally got around to deciding on how to frame a beautiful tassle that I was gifted by a lovely lady that I met on my travels in Mexico.

This lady worked as an Interior Designer in Dallas Texas and she collected lots of tassles and fabric samples over the years. Amazingly this particular tassle dates back to the 1800's. Perfect for presenting in a box frame in my master bedroom given that my house was built in about 1856(?) - and it coordinates perfectly with my green Laura Ashley wall paper.

The frame is a simple box from Ikea. I got the E2 bus all the way over to Ikea this morning and after a breakfast in the restaurant browsed the store and bought this frame and a few other things.
