Some more pics.....

The front of the house has been pointed and new bricks have replaced missing ones.  It is beginning to look very smart!
The canopy above the door has been removed to be renovated and tidied up.  The circular glass above the door has also been taken out while the work is being done.

                                 The attic is nearly finished.

And here is a picture of the glass that will go in to the bifolding doors that will lead out out to the courtyard.  It's hard to get perspective but these sheets of glass are 2.4 metres tall!

We also heard saw some good news on Facebook about Ranelagh - "Itsa" is opening soon!!!!  It's going to be in a unit up near the bank at the triangle.  We love Itsa and can't believe we will be living so close to one.  In the past we have had to travel in to Dublin City or out to Dun Laoghaire when we got the urge to have an Itsa Bagel.  There is also an Itsa in the Museum of Modern Art in Kilmainham, but it does not do many bagels.

Bathroom accessories

We are starting to choose accessories for the bathroom.  Ciaran saw this vanity in a local plumbing supply store on Saturday morning.  It was exactly what we were looking for so he promptly bought it.  This Vanity and Sink will go in the downstairs bathroom.  He chose a different tap as he felt the one in the picture was too big.

Look how it is progressing!!!

Bedroom 2:
Plasterboard sheeting has been put up after the first fix

                                                                Bedroom 1:
External walls insulated prior to plasterboard being put up.
The walls will then be taped and skimmed.

Some of the remains of the original paint colours!!!

Wall built up between Bedroom 2 and the landing

You can walk out this door from the bathroom on to
the roof of the kitchen (new extension)!

Today I was told more about the stairs up to the Studio.  They will be made of glass and will be cantilevered off the wall.  They sound amazing!!!!  The stairs will be going in at the very end of the build - I can't wait!

I've been told that we are on the turn......

It is expected that first fix will start in the next week or two.  Seemingly I'll begin to see a lot of changes and progress then!
But until then the place looks like this:

Sash windows!

The up and down sash windows are in, balanced and are fully working. Tomorrow they will be sealed and insulated on the inside. The shutter boxes will then be returned to where they were originally fitted.

Below is the window in the back bedroom.

                                                       Front of the house

This is the second bedroom window pictured again
from the inside of the house.

The sash windows are only going into the older part of the house.  The new part of the house (the extension) will have powder coated treble-glazed aluminium windows in a dark grey colour.

It's progressing!

The flat roof on the new extension has been insulated.

Here you can see the waterproof membrane and the hidden gutter.

Ciaran pointing out a bow in the original wall.  The wall will have to be taken down and rebuilt.  This was not expected but sometimes issues are revealed as the layers are peeled back.

Sash Windows!

The Sash windows have been brought down on to site.
They will be fitted tomorrow.  The box window frames will have to be rebuilt and then the windows will be installed.  A specialist company will be fitting the windows and making them workable up and down sash windows using ropes and weights as balances.
