20 years ago in March

As I drove to work today I listened to an interview on the radio with the lead detective on the Annie McCarrick missing person case.  On the 26th of March 1993, 26 yr old American Annie McCarrick disappeared in Dublin.  Never to be seen again it is one of the sad missing persons stories in Ireland.
This case resonated with many Irish people and most people remember the picture of this tall striking American lady.  For her family's sake I hope a body is eventually found and that the mystery of her disappearance is solved - even after all this time.

Butlers Chocolate & Coffee Shop

I met a friend for coffee in Butler's this morning. Their coffee is strong and great tasting but even better than their coffee is their chocolates!! My friend and I sampled a Praline Butter, a milk truffle, a Baileys cream and the nicest a coffee cream. If you are looking for good Irish chocolate I don't think you can go wrong with Butler's - they even sell good quality cooking chocolate. As far as I know Butler's Chocolate have opened a concession in Abu Dhabi!

We've got Gap!

A new Gap story has just opened in the Westend Mall in Blanchardstown Centre. How exciting! My friend recently had a baby boy so I took a visit to Gap to get a present. I got the cutest little hoodie!

Easter is coming!

Easter is coming and I have 4 blissful days off work over the holiday. Ciaran is heading to Galway for a tournament. My twin sister is coming to stay with me over the weekend. We plan to relax in the hot tub, go out for a nice meal and chill out!

Best foot forward!

My sister has been raving about the Korean Purederm Glycolic Peel foot mask she recently used. She said the results were incredible.

You pop your footsies into the booties that are filled with liquid and then put a regular pair of socks on top. Relax for 90 mins then wash your feet in water. After 5-7days hard skin starts peeling off your feet and you are left with amazingly soft feet!

I'll let you know what the results are in a week.

The real thing!

I used to be a big Diet Coke Fan until Coke Zero was introduced to the market. I think Coke Zero is a diet drink that tastes the most like real coke.

When I was younger I spent some time over my Summers in Germany with a friend in her home in Stuttgart. While I was there I developed a real taste for Coke Light. It only seems to be widely available in mainland Europe as I have bought it in Spain, France and Belgium but never Ireland. That is until today.

Look what I found - it's Coke Light!!! Delicious!

Fascinating fascinators!

It has become very fashionable to wear "Fascinators" to Irish weddings rather than the more traditional hat. I saw lots of fascinators for sale in Boots and Penneys (Primark - not to be confused with JC Penny) this morning. Normally a fascinator will set you back about €25 euro in somewhere like Marks & Spencer's or Monsoon Accessorize but they were only €11 in Boots and half that in Penneys. My sister got a very nice fascinator in Dunnes Stores so do shop around if you are looking for one! They tend to be either clip in or on a band. If you are anyway crafty you could easily make a fascinator to coordinate with your wedding outfit.
