Iron on this!

There was 50% off Ironing Boards in Woodies DIY this weekend so we took a trip to Woodies in Tallaght to buy one. There were lots of different brands of various prices. I chose a large Brabantia that is guaranteed for 10 years.

I tested it out the minute we got home. It's great! Good cushiony padding and the perfect height. I was able to speedily iron a shirt.

Obviously I am not a fan of ironing (who is?) so hopefully this new board will make the task at hand easier!

Chocolate pudding

What a dessert! An overly generous chocolate sponge pudding from Superquinn. Warmed in the microwave and served with ice cream. Yummy - but I am quite stuffed now!!!

Hungry doggy

We ran out of dog food yesterday. Normally I get Bones dog food "Gain" in Petstop in Blanchardstown.

I wouldn't get to Petstop until today so I decided to go to Petland on Camden Street yesterday. Unfortunately after walking to the shop with the dog I discovered that they don't stock Gain. I probably should have phoned before I set off.

Today I went to Petstore and got Bones his food which he wolfed down when I got home! He eats the small dog food which he loves - it is smaller sized pieces which I think he finds easier to eat. This is about the 5th brand of food we tried with Bones who is one fussy Shi Tzu. Thankfully he liked it straight away and now turns his nose up at any other food!

See below for a charity event organized by Gain in aid of Barretstown. Olympic champion Katie Taylor will be in attendance and it looks like it will be a great day out for all the family.

Oblivion

Tonight we went to see the new Tom Cruise movie "Oblivion". I enjoyed it! It's your typical big budget sci fi movie - you can't go wrong with it.

Afterwards we had sliders in Eddie Rockets. A very enjoyable movie was topped off by 20 mins in the hot tub when we got home. Seems like the weather is getting milder in Ireland which is nice!

Ad men of Madison Avenue

Do you watch Mad Men?

I adore this programme from the characters, to the clothes, to the setting, to the script, to the sexism, to the smoking and drinking. I adore it all!!

My favourite scene is the

Kodak pitch

I know the new season was shown in the States during the week. We probably won't see it here in Ireland for a few weeks.

List for the day

My to do list for the day.

I'm off work today (but working tomorrow) as I work alternate Friday/Saturday every week. I have a few items to do and as Ciaran left the dog at home with me I will take him for a walk along with me as I do my chores.

Check back later to see some photos if my day as I get through my to do list.

I've just received a text from Woodies about a sale they are having. I was planning on buying a new ironing board so I will check theirs out after work tomorrow.

Cold Tub

Hot tub fail!!

It was cold in Ireland last night so to chill out we decided to relax in the hot tub. I jumped in to discover that it was down to 31 degrees Celsius (87 f)! Yikes!  My sister and were in it the other night and one of us must have hit the off button by mistake. I checked it this morning and it is thankfully back at 38 (101f) degrees so I will enjoy it later.

From a conversation with someone yesterday i realised that I really miss my compost heap.  We had one in our last house because we had a bigger garden.  Luckily I currently have a brown bin service that takes away our organic waste but I did find it very satisfying in the last house when my compost heap changed into usable compost - or black gold as I called it!!
