We had breakfast in Cinnamon this morning. It's a pity the food is average as it is a really nice setting. We had poached eggs, relish and toast. Cinnamon could also look at getting a new coffee supplier as their coffee is fairly poor. Probably the thing that annoys me most about Cinnamon is the way they nickel & dime their customers - can you believe they charge €1 more for scrambled eggs rather than poached eggs. Eggs are eggs as far as I am concerned, there should be no extra charges for the way they are cooked.
In better news I see that Door 51 is coming back. Yay!
That's where I will be going for breakfast in future.
Door 51 had changed into NoodleMee for a short time. Ciaran and I foresaw that this was never going to be a success as it was going up against the established Diep and Siam Thai (I love their Pad Thai!)
This blog was originally started to track our progress as we regenerated a derelict Victorian house in Dublin. We turned an old crumbling ruin in to our dream house! If you wish to read through the trials and tribulations of the house build it is best to start at the oldest blog post and read in date order. The blog then evolved in to being all about my life in Dublin, Ireland and then life in Malaga, Spain with artist "PIGSY" and now back in Dublin I hope you enjoy reading it!

Good Friday in Ireland
Here in Ireland, Good Friday is a day of abstention. Is it the same in other countries?
No pubs or off licenses are allowed sell alcohol and Catholics are expected to not eat meat or drink alcohol.
I believe that the only place you will be able to buy alcohol is in airports or residents bars in hotels.
The photo below is the sign that was up in my local Superquinn grocery shop.
The bottom pic is the sign that was in Dunnes Stores.

20 years ago in March
As I drove to work today I listened to an interview on the radio with the lead detective on the Annie McCarrick missing person case. On the 26th of March 1993, 26 yr old American Annie McCarrick disappeared in Dublin. Never to be seen again it is one of the sad missing persons stories in Ireland.
This case resonated with many Irish people and most people remember the picture of this tall striking American lady. For her family's sake I hope a body is eventually found and that the mystery of her disappearance is solved - even after all this time.

Butlers Chocolate & Coffee Shop
I met a friend for coffee in Butler's this morning.
Their coffee is strong and great tasting but even better than their coffee is their chocolates!! My friend and I sampled a Praline Butter, a milk truffle, a Baileys cream and the nicest a coffee cream.
If you are looking for good Irish chocolate I don't think you can go wrong with Butler's - they even sell good quality cooking chocolate.
As far as I know Butler's Chocolate have opened a concession in Abu Dhabi!
We've got Gap!
A new Gap story has just opened in the Westend Mall in Blanchardstown Centre. How exciting!
My friend recently had a baby boy so I took a visit to Gap to get a present. I got the cutest little hoodie!

Easter is coming!
Easter is coming and I have 4 blissful days off work over the holiday. Ciaran is heading to Galway for a tournament. My twin sister is coming to stay with me over the weekend. We plan to relax in the hot tub, go out for a nice meal and chill out!
