Thai Noodle Soup to takeaway from Betelnut Cafe
I'm a little disappointed. I thought it would have coconut milk.
It's a very thin soup. I tossed in some sundried tomatoes to bulk it out.
This blog was originally started to track our progress as we regenerated a derelict Victorian house in Dublin. We turned an old crumbling ruin in to our dream house! If you wish to read through the trials and tribulations of the house build it is best to start at the oldest blog post and read in date order. The blog then evolved in to being all about my life in Dublin, Ireland and then life in Malaga, Spain with artist "PIGSY" and now back in Dublin I hope you enjoy reading it!

Twilight - sweet spot for snaps
Yesterday evening while Amy and I were in Dillingers, Ciaran and Declan were working hard taking photos of the back of the house as the sun went down.
These are just iPhone photos of what they were photographing - the proper results will be used on their website www.odkmarchitects.com

Hump day
Once Wednesday is through I am over the hump and closer to the weekend. Yesterday evening was bright and beautiful, today it is grey and overcast - that's Irish weather for you.
We were up and out early this morning as we had the plumber doing work in the house. We walked up to Coffee Society for a cuppa together. Bones sat outside and waited patiently for us.
Ciaran then went off to work. I don't start work until the afternoon so I am now in Starbucks doing some work.

Dillingers remodel
Dillingers reopened on Monday night in Ranelagh. It has a complete redesign and looks very different to the old restaurant. It has a very cool diner feel to it. We sat at the large green bar and ordered a small plate of beef short rib chilli and Mac & cheese. Both were gorgeous.
The menu choices have an American feel to them, I don't think I have ever seen corn bread in Ireland - and it had real corn in it!!
The barman was working in front of us and he was making great old fashioned cocktails - strong on alcohol, light on mixer and no fluffy or creamy additions.
I will be back - maybe this weekend with my husband! ;-)
I will have to make a reservation though. My sister and I were lucky to get seated last night (Tuesday!) without a reservation and we were advised that our seats were needed back at 9pm.

Talented
My sister Amy is quite the photographer. Here's two nice shots she took this evening. It was a beautiful sunny evening and a gorgeous piece of sunlight came in the window as the sun was setting.
It looks like I am posing but I am actually looking out for a neighbour that I needed to speak to as they arrived home.

Auntie Anne taunts me!
Auntie Anne's Pretzels are divine. Have you tasted them? The vanilla sugar pretzel served warm and doughy is one if the nicest snacks ever!!
I have to turn my head as I walk by this shop......but the smell still gets me. I get enticed over for the sweet deliciousness. Oh Auntie Anne, why did you have to open your first Irish store in the shopping centre next to my workplace??!!!!
***Edit- I've been reliably informed that Auntie Anne's originated in Lancaster, Pennsylvania by two friends who live in Lancaster, PA.
I learnt something new!

Boston Marathon
Watching the news about the bombing of the Boston Marathon. What a completely senseless act. I heard an Irish runner who had competed being interviewed on the radio saying how heartless it was to attack runners at the end of this event who had no fuel to get themselves away.
A shocking cowardly act which threatened the safety of people of all ages and nationalities but also threatens the feeling of security of the American people, as they went about their Patriots Day Celebrations, and as they pick up the pieces and start a new day today.
So very sad.
