Bank Holiday

Monday is a Bank Holiday in Ireland - is it in your country too?

Bank Holidays are always on Mondays here, I don't know whether that is the same in most countries.

We had breakfast in The Farm on Upper Leeson Street. The food was great but it was way too cold (10 degrees celcius) to be sitting outside.

It did warm up during the day and as the sun went down at 7pm we sat in the front garden enjoying the setting sun.

Wiggly things!

There was a lot of talk of snakes here. My friends in the States sent a video of a snake they found in the skimmer of their pool (yuck!)

This got me thinking of worm composting. I looked on YouTube for info about wormeries. It was all very interesting but unfortunately made for some very strange dreams. Probably best to not be looking at this type of thing just before bed!

Flower bedding

Yesterday I put down some topsoil in what constitutes our front garden. Today I planted some pansies and geraniums. Hopefully they don't die like the last flowers I planted!!

12yr old lifer

Two stories crossed my radar yesterday.  The first one was the about Colt Lundy and his 12 yr old friend Paul Gingrich who were tried as adults for the murder of Colt's stepfather.  In a documentary on Channel 4, the story of how the murder and ensuing trial and imprisonment occurred.  All very sad......

The next news item can only be described as bizarre.  Brenda Heist disappeared from Pennsylvania 11 years ago and was legally declared dead.  She has now turned up in the Florida Keys and is saying that she just met with a group of drifters and left her life behind.  This story is worth googling!

Bones goes to the butcher

Here is Bones on a trip to the butcher to buy dinner. He waits patiently outside while Ciaran chooses what to buy.

He even met a friend!

Once he gets to our cul de sac he is allowed off the lead to walk free

Barge on the water

Yesterday I walked back to the train station with my sister. We walked along the canal and in through the city.

We had to walk slowly as Bones had to stop and greet people along the way. He stopped to talk to Truffles the angry Pomeranian and then he met a nice older couple who were on holiday from San Francisco.

We passed by La Peniche which is a restaurant on a barge. We ate here about 2 years ago. The food was fine considering it was made aboard a boat but I think I would have preferred to sit on top deck with a glass of wine as we went along the canal.

Chewey, gooey, yum

Best Brownie in Dublin.....well I think so!
