What I've been working on: PIGSY website

PIGSY Art Website

The big project that I'm currently working on is PIGSY's website. Ciaran gave it a major overhaul and design upgrade when Ireland went in to lockdown at the start of the pandemic.

The piece of work that I am now doing on it is I am going back over all of the content and optimizing it for search engines (SEO). Along with all of this I am amending and adding to current content. I recently added a new page which shows PIGSY artworks on walls in homes. This is a really great way to showcase the artwork and it also emphasizes how contemporary they are and what a feature they become when hung in a space.

Importantly the website is both desktop and mobile friendly. From looking at stats I can see that more people visit the website using a mobile device than on a desktop computer. Sign of the times and this really doesn't surprise me. I'm open to suggestions or critique on the website so get in contact with me if you can offer any advice for improvements - particularly if you excel at SEO as I am a newbie to it!

Additionally I would like more backlinks to the PIGSY website so that's probably the next stage of this project. Get in contact with me if you have any helpful suggestions on how this can be done.

Happy New Year - 2018 is here!

2018 is here after we had a lovely celebration yesterday. We had dinner in Dillingers and then returned home early and watched a film before switching on the TV just before midnight for the countdown.
We cracked open a bottle of prosecco and toasted in the New Year and made it to bed shortly after.

Earlier in the day, Ciaran had painted and videoed him and broadcast live on both Facebook and Periscope. You can watch the video here.
I also took a few pics of him for posterity on the last day of the year. Here's one of them.

For my New Year resolutions, I intend to give up my diet coke habit as I drink far to much of it. A far better option is to substitute with sparkling water at first and then switch out for regular water.

I also am going back off carbs as I have started back eating them since November and quite honestly I feel better when I am not eating a big load of processed sugar.

I'll let you know how I get on!

In the meanwhile here's a handy guide on what to eat and what not to.

Happy New Year to you all and Good Luck with your new year resolutions.

All Art is Theft at The Kemp Gallery

"All Art is Theft" opened in The Kemp Gallery last night.

It is a group exhibition for Christmas. Artist's in the show included Pigsy, Kemp, Emma Sheridan & ADW and all of the art works are pieces that were inspired by famous artworks.

Kemp & Pigsy collaborated on this piece which is based on Caravaggio's "Salome with the head of John the Baptist"
Here's a Pigsy!
It's called "Angel" and is based on Jean-Michel Basquiat's "Fallen Angel".
One of Pigsy's pieces sold on the opening night (how great!) but if you want to own a Pigsy you can visit www.ciaranmccoy.com where both original artworks and prints are on sale.

It sure was a successful opening, particularly for Ciaran (Pigsy), which was sponsored by Manor Brewing Company who presented their "Mont" Irish Mountain Beer which everyone agreed was a tasty brew.
If you are on twitter you might give them a follow!

If you are looking for a Christmas Present for someone special, call in to The Kemp Gallery to view this exhibition and also browse all of the gorgeous jewellery in The Design Yard.
