The beautifully ornate fully restored public conveninces in Chancery Park in Dublin City near Capel Street. The clock at the top works!
This blog was originally started to track our progress as we regenerated a derelict Victorian house in Dublin. We turned an old crumbling ruin in to our dream house! If you wish to read through the trials and tribulations of the house build it is best to start at the oldest blog post and read in date order. The blog then evolved in to being all about my life in Dublin, Ireland and then life in Malaga, Spain with artist "PIGSY" and now back in Dublin I hope you enjoy reading it!
Minitel!!! You always remember it from french in school. I don't. Going to google it now
ReplyDeleteThat's an Irish minitel terminal btw - qwerty keyboard (per wiki)
ReplyDeleteIt would have been unusual for a French one to have made its way to Ireland!
DeleteYes I do always remember reading about the French Minitel system!!
My first computer was an Amstrad. I think they were made in Britain. It's still in my basement. Want to buy it ????

DeleteAlan Sugar sold the Amstrads!
DeleteYour first computer is very telling what age you are. My first one was a Commodore 64 ;-)
Enid Sugar I had the Amstrad 1512. Your Commodore 64 predates me. I'm just saying.
DeleteI had an Amstrad 1512 also and you are correct that was many years after the Commodore 64.
DeleteOh, I remember them. My sister had one in the apartment she lived in when she first moved to Paris. Long time ago now. It was funny really, because she kept trying to explain to me what it was and I just couldn't really wrap my head around the idea. Partly, I have to say, because I think she didn't really understand it herself - she ended up telling me it was kind of like Aertel (the info pages on the telly - do they still have that?). LOL
